What IS Tarot?
Hi there. I’m Julie, your wine-loving tarot reader and intuitive expansion coach. Today, I thought I’d offer some clarity on the age-old question…What the hell IS tarot?
I’ll start by stating what it is not. It is not the ominous doom and gloom that Hollywood makes it out to be. It is not some Satanic ritual - in case anyone out there is still living under a rock. It is certainly not your ticket to spiritual bypassing. And, most importantly, it is not your Magic 8 ball.
Now, let me offer my explanation of what tarot is. Other readers might have a slightly different take on this, and that’s okay.
For starters, Tarot is a complex language consisting of 78 total cards with 22 Major Arcana archetypes, 56 Minor Arcana, 4 elements, and a treasure trove of hundreds, if not thousands, of deliberate symbols throughout. These symbols include things like the Kabbalah Tree of Life, the Egyptian ankh - hieroglyphic symbol of life, and many more.
Tarot is an intuitive tool that allows you to connect with your subconscious mind. You likely spend 99% of your waking hours focusing on your to-do list and navigating this crazy rock we live on. That leaves very little room, if any, for being still and allowing your consciousness to communicate with your body and intuition. This is where Tarot comes in. When I do readings for people, they are moved by the fact that the cards highlight specifically what they are currently experiencing and confirm what they already know they have to do to change their circumstances, but are too blocked by doubt and fear. While it can feel like you’re spiritually being exposed to a stranger (me), it also offers you the clarity you need to hear because we all know how much our self-limiting beliefs and the people benefiting from them love to gaslight us. Tarot calls BS to your face - and that’s honestly my favorite thing about it.
Tarot works with quantum energy through concepts like synchronicity, entanglement, and the observer effect. Your intuitive energy is the star of the show, and the cards are here to support you with insights, reflections, and support as you move through life.
